Remixing Drag
Through a unique partnership between the Council on Science & Technology and the LGBT center, we host an annual celebration of technology, diversity and LGBTQ+ communities, at the intersection of STEM and queer cultural theory.
Each spring break, students work with visitors, faculty and staff across the LGBTQ+ spectrum, with the aim of providing a safe space for culturally relevant STEM-making and teaching.

Hack the Drag (2019)
Our inaugural event, Hack the Drag 2019 was initiated by artist and activist Sharon De la Cruz, as an innovative way to engage students with STEM and LGBTQ+ traditions. By exploring integrations of technology and drag, participants are guided through design iteration, circuit-making, and presentation.
Participants showed off their final product in a hybrid wearable/drag show, with guest appearances by world renowned drag performers and faculty mentors!
Video from the event can be found here (PU ID required).
