On Friday, March 1st, the Student Advisory Board hosted a cyanotype art workshop titled "Painting With the Sun: The Science of Cyanotypes." Participants came to learn about the chemical reactions that occur as cyanotype ink transforms as it gets exposed to UV light and how washing with water develops and fixes the painted image. They also got creative and made their own art on tote bags using flowers, leaves, and designs drawn on acrylic sheets to cast "shadows" onto the ink!
