On Thursday, November 30th, the CST proudly hosted the fourth installment of “Origami Engineering,” an event where attendees apply simple folding rules to design and fabricate reconfigurable structures that can be used across different scales and applications including medical devices, robotics, and deployable structures. The evening attracted over 60 attendees who created three different types of structures including a pleated hyperbolic circle. The Origami Engineering workshop helps to promote Professor Paulino’s wonderful course, CEE 345/EGR 345/STC 345/MSE 345: Origami Engineering.
