Last month, students from Dr. Craig Marshall’s freshman seminar, FRS 129 - Visualizing Nature: Techniques in Field Biology, spent 3 weeks at Mpala Research Center located in Laikipia, Kenya. Students applied the knowledge and skills that they gained throughout the fall semester to engage in international fieldwork and interact with biologists from around the globe conducting research at Mpala. Moreover, students were provided the amazing opportunity to learn about Kenyan culture from locals and observe the incredible flora and charismatic fauna inhabiting the area. Thank you to the entire Mpala family for hosting us and allowing us to learn from you!
