CST hosted two events in the Brainy Bites series on the science and cultural significance of Kimchi, organized by Assistant Director, Vivian Feng. Both undergraduate and graduate students participated in the active and fun-filled events where they learned about fermentation science from the Molecular Biology Outreach Program (MBOP) and CST scientists, and the cultural significance of kimchi from Dr. Susie Kim, Lecturer from the Korean Language Program in the East Asian Studies program. Students then tasted various types of kimchi and dishes prepared from them, made their own delicious kimchi under the guidance of a community expert, Mrs. Jiyeon Park, and brought home their freshly-made kimchi with a booklet of kimchi recipes prepared by the Korean Student Association of Princeton!
