On Saturday, January 16, 2021, CST’s Executive Director, Dr. Sami Kahn served as a keynote speaker for the National Science Teaching Association’s (NSTA) "Rising to the Challenge" webinar on educational equity. Dr. Kahn discussed strengths-based approaches to STEM teaching for all students as an alternative to more traditional deficit models in which educators seek to remediate students’ challenges often at the expense of nurturing strengths. During the talk, Dr. Kahn discussed some of the findings of her research published in the book, Towards Inclusion of All Learners through Science Teacher Education.
