Undergraduate student Chris Russo '20 has been using the lasercutter to make some beautiful serving trays.  The left tray was designed in the style of the Vienna Secession art movement.  Through a lot of trial-and-error, Chris figured out the laser kerf offset required to be lasercut precise, press-fit acrylic inlay and interlock patterns.  He also used press-fit interlock tabs in the 2nd tray (right), laser cut out of wood, and beautifully etched.  He plans to finish this tray with a nice stain.
