Motion capture, Max MSP voice modulation, Ion lighting

Inside Steps is an individual experience that encourages the subject to interact with him/herself. Through audio and visual experiences, the installation explores the notion of being alone and self-reflection. Inside Steps intentionally takes place in a room with no external audio or visual disturbances; all interactions are generated based on the movements and actions of the subject. The subject’s motion is captured and transformed into correlated voice modulations and lighting environments. The user is encouraged to interact with the space by speaking and moving around the room. This installation was inspired by the exploration of self-reflection, but users are welcome to be creative with their interactions with the space, as well as with their interpretations of the experience. It is, after all, a personal and personalizable piece.
