The CST is dedicated to supporting the efforts of all individuals in STEM and also amplifying the voices of diverse people who have contributed to STEM but are often marginalized. Below is a sampling of our programs aimed at making STEM more inclusive at Princeton and beyond:
The Scientist Spotlight showcases a searchable database of people of color, of diverse gender and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds, individuals with disabilities, and others as part of CST's initiative to expand representation in STEM courses developed through nominations from the Princeton University community.
The Brainy Bites program series aims to bring science to the forefront of conversations about foods we may interact with daily but seldom take a moment to think about. We have hosted multiple events featuring coffee and chocolate.
Princeton University STEM faculty, researchers, and students discuss their career trajectories and provide tips for students interested in pursuing and navigating STEM careers at this annual event.
The CST’s Diversifying STEM Curriculum Community of Practice explores ways to revise the science and engineering curriculum to emphasize diverse contributions to STEM and encourage all students in the field.
We collaborate closely with the Emma Bloomberg Center for Access and Opportunity to support students in the Freshman Scholars Institute (FSI) and the Scholars Institute Fellowship Program (SIFP).
