CST's initiatives are guided by six evidence-based frameworks that ensure alignment with best practices for advancing STEM literacy.
The CST is dedicated to supporting the efforts of all individuals in STEM and also amplifying the voices of diverse people who have contributed to STEM but are often marginalized. Below is a sampling of our programs aimed at making STEM more inclusive at Princeton and beyond:
The CST supports the development of effective communication skills for current and future STEM professionals. The CST envisions science communication broadly to include all forms of media and supports courses, events, and workshops that foster students' growth in this area.
We collaborate with both on-campus and external partners to highlight the sometimes unrecognized scientific expertise within our community, strengthen connection and comprehension of concepts, and expand our notion of who qualifies as a scientist.
The CST recognizes that STEM is an ideal context for promoting growth and provides programming that fosters professional and personal well-being through STEM for the Princeton University Community.
STEM faculty at Princeton conduct research that benefits society, either through direct impact of the research or education about their work. The CST provides administrative, intellectual, and financial support to bring faculty's research to Princeton and beyond through creative programming and collaborations.
