Funding for Phy108, Physics in the Life Sciences

Given the pandemic and the loss of many summer positions, I used some of the funding to support approximately ten undergraduates in projects related to video editing, textbook development feedback, and some new content investigation. The physics department also helped with funding. Paul and I met with students ~weekly over a few months to brainstorm and review progress. Some students extended into the fall.

Students evaluated a variety of possible ways to present information in the course textbook being developed (image of examples in other books were ranked via a google poll). Existing course example videos were rated for utility and completeness. Students took on some editing for those videos that could be improved. Some students bravely took on the development of new content or expanding existing content!

The funding helped support and focus both myself and many summer students during a challenging time.
