Event Description
The history and science of the global food chain is a rich and nuanced story, and nothing captures it like the case of the banana. “The story of the banana is really the story of modern agriculture exemplified in a single fruit,” Daniel Bebber, University of Exeter professor and leader of the BananEx research group, told Time Magazine in 2019, “It has all of the ingredients of equitability and sustainability issues, disease pressure, and climate change impact all in one. It’s a very good lesson for us.” Join us for a discussion and workshop on bananas, food waste, and composting with NonHuman Teachers and international filmmaker, photographer, and ethnobotanist, Anthony Basil Rodriguez.
