Event Description
Faculty Salon: Materials and art in the laboratory. Lightning talks about glass

Faculty, staff, and scholars are invited to join our Materials Salon series on February 27, 2025, 3:00-4:30 PM, featuring lightning talks centered on one material theme, glass, from faculty and scholars across the university. Through this series, we intend to convene a broad group of scholars with shared interdisciplinary interests in this area to gather and exchange ideas across specialties and identify new approaches for research and teaching. Light snacks will be served.

Join us for lightning talks by the following speakers:

  • Craig Arnold (MAE / PMI): Cryo electron microscopy of glass
  • Janna Israel (PUAM): Broken Glass in the Early Modern Court
  • Martha Friedman (VIS):  Ghost in the Glass: Fragility, Form, and Transformation
